Title:Main Title: High-resolution space-time modelling for precipitation
Description:Abstract: The goal of my work is to develop a consistent space-time, multilevel statistical model that merges rain radar measurements and other observations of precipitation. The model shall represent spatial dependences, take account of systematic and random errors of radar data and combine di fferent types of measurements for rain. In order to do this we face measurements on di fferent scales. The merging will be done on large scales followed by disaggregation to smaller scales for hydrological modelling. A crucial point at the beginning of my work is the property of rain not following Gaussian distribution. The methods to be used are Geostatistics, Bayesian hierarchical modelling and the theory of Gaussian Markov Random Fields.
